Doug Foley to Return to Top Alcohol Dragster

Mooresville NC -- After a successful stint in the IHRA and NHRA Top Fuel Dragster ranks, Doug Foley is returning to his roots in Top Alcohol Dragster. Foley finished 9th in the world standings in 2003 when he campaigned a blown alcohol dragster under the Foley & Lewis banner with long time friend Tim Lewis. The next chapter in Foley's career will be partnering with world championship tuner Randy Meyer, who recently clinched the 2011 Division 5 championship as a driver. The two plan to run a full schedule in 2012, with the ultimate goal of winning the national championship.

Runner-up in the 2003 Division 1 Alcohol Dragster championship, Doug moved up to Top Fuel in 2004, when he was named Pro Rookie of the Year in IHRA. His ability to defeat top NHRA drivers earned him the nickname, "the Giant Killer". Foley continued to compete in Top Fuel through the beginning of the 2011 season. He drove a Top Alcohol Dragster at the 2011 Auto-Plus Nationals with support from Senecal Construction.

Doug Foley will be driving a car owned a tuned by Randy Meyer, who has filled the role of owner, driver and crew chief in A/Fuel. Meyer has been very successful in the past decade, tuning Alan Bradshaw to the 2003 World Championship. Three consecutive Division 5 championships followed, with Randy behind the wheel. He then tuned Dan Kracht to the 2009 Division 5 championship. Most recently, Meyer won the 2011 Division 5 championship, the fifth in his career.

The duo will run roughly 12 races in 2012, with a majority of the races being national events. The team will have major support from Senecal Construction, with additional support from Lucas Oil, NGK Spark Plugs, ARP, Hedman Headers, Hussey Copper Gaskets, Aeroquip, Solder Seal Gunk, Goodyear Tire, Meyer Truck Center and Doug Foley's Drag Racing School.
