Rough Start to 2012 for Hill and Nitro Fever

NORWALK, Ohio – A/Fuel Dragster driver Dave Hill entered the Cavalcade of Stars NHRA regional event without a baseline tune-up for 2012. The Indiana-based Nitro Fever Racing car made three consecutive passes down the track at Summit Motorsports Park, but none of them were enough to propel them into the eight-car Top Alcohol Dragster field.

“We’re still trying to fit some new parts into our tune-up. The car ran well towards the end of the run, but it’s just not getting off the line as quick as we need it to. We had three clean passes all weekend, so we do have a good baseline to work from,” said Hill.

Hill and the Nitro Fever team had the pleasure of racing in front of an estimated crowd of over 40,000 fans. Dave was a part of autograph sessions on Friday and Saturday, where he and other drivers signed hero cards for over 500 fans.

“It was incredible, racing in front of all of those Ohio fans. I’m always so inspired by the families and kids who come out to see the racing. It makes me want to race that much more, so I really enjoy coming to Norwalk,” said the machine specialist.

Crew chief Ben Ameling and the crew will get together and prepare their nitro-burning dragster for the next outing in Chicago. The first race of the year gave them a good base to go off.

“We’re out here to be competitive, so we’re going to try to test at Route 66 Raceway before the Burndown at Sundown regional race. I’m really looking forward to what we consider our home track on the tour,” claimed Hill.

The Burndown at Sundown will take place at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois, June 8-10. Dave Hill and the Nitro Fever Racing A/Fuel Dragster will be joined by another Hill in competition. Son Ryan is set to attend as well, driving the Moldenhauer Racing blown Top Dragster.

Hill and Nitro Fever Primed for 2012 Debut

NORWALK, Ohio – Every year around April, we get the so-called bug, “the itch”. The testosterone level rises in all of us. Why, you ask? Because the drag racing season is here. That’s no different for the Nitro Fever Racing Injected Nitro Dragster team. The team has had the winter to reflect on the past years, coming up with some great modifications to the car and new parts to ensure great performance.

“The team is very excited to compete at the B’laster Cavalcade of Stars at Summit Motorsports Park. With the potential for new marketing partners, the wheel-standing Ameling-built A/Fuel Dragster needs to put on a great show for the 30k-plus fans in Norwalk! The car will be chugging nitromethane as it powers down the track at over 260 mph,” said driver Dave Hill.

Nitro Fever Racing spent the winter preparing their car for another season of competition on the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series tour. 2011 saw Hill and the team enter several NHRA divisional and national events, as well as IHRA Nitro Jam series races in the Pro Fuel Dragster class. This marks Dave’s fourth year competing in the fastest Sportsman class.

The crew – Brian, Bob, Ryan, and crew chief Ben Ameling – especially enjoy competing at Summit Motorsports Park.

“We always enjoy racing in front of the excited and very enthusiastic Ohio crowd,” said Ameling. “The Bader family has always provided great entertainment for families to come out and enjoy a premium show for a great price.”

Dave Hill and the boys from Indiana will join several of the Midwest’s best Top Alcohol Dragster teams at this weekend’s B’laster Cavalcade of Stars at Summit Motorsports Park, May 18-20. Qualifying for TAD starts at 7 pm on Friday night, followed by two more qualifying passes at 3:30 and 8 pm on Saturday. Eliminations will kick off on Sunday morning.

Hill and Nitro Fever Racing Prepared for Pro Fuel Dragster 2011 Debut

Courtesy of NVW Motorsports Promotion

Valparaiso, Ind. – After almost two months away from the track, Dave Hill and the Nitro Fever Racing Pro Fuel Dragster team are ready for their first IHRA race of 2011. They’ll be competing at the IHRA Professional season finale, the Northern Nitro Jam, at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan.

“We’re elated to be attending our first Nitro Jam event of the year because we can try to back up the 5.45 pass we made at MIR (Maryland International Raceway) last year. The Pro Fuel class is exciting for us, as we can make as much horsepower as possible; there are no limits. The ‘run what ya brung’ style really appeals to us,” said Hill.

Though it’s their first Pro Fuel race of the year, Dave is confident in the team.

“Nitro Fever Racing is ready to compete with the best of the best in the Pro Fuel Dragster category. We’re hoping to repeat and improve our season finale race last year, where we took out the championship contender in the first round and went to the finals. I’m looking forward to running good numbers this weekend. Along with running well, I’m really excited to put on a great show for the fans!” claimed the Indiana-based driver.

The Northern Nitro Jam race will take place August 12-13, at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park, in Martin, Michigan. For complete results from the race, visit www.dragracecentral.com or www.ihra.com.
