Brea, Ca—It is going to be a very
exciting week prior to the team gearing up for the U.S. Nationals August 28 -
Sept 3rd, in Indianapolis, IN. Each Labor Day weekend, NHRA racers and fans
converge and share their passion at Lucas Oil Raceway. Just outside of Indianapolis in Clermont, the
"Big Go" is the biggest, oldest, richest, and most prestigious drag
race in the world.
To start the fun, on Tuesday August 28th
Lombardo Racing will be teaming up with the Outback Steakhouse, located at 7525
US 31 South, for an awesome opportunity to display the actual Good To Go NAPA Batteries Top Alcohol Funny
Car. John will be signing autographs for
all the customers and hopes to enhance the “Outback” experience. There will be
opportunities for pictures with the car and John, as well as raffles for team
Lombardo Race apparel.
Friday, August 31st, the team will get the car
ready for the first two qualifying assaults at 12:00pm and 3:00pm. After the
excitement of being back in the car and charging at 260mph John will be honored
to throw the first pitch and help team mascot "Rowdie" usher in the
Indianapolis Indians last regular season Baseball game. This will take place at Victory field,
located within White River State Park on the southwest side of downtown
Indianapolis, at 7:15 p.m. Immediately
following his pitching debut he will be signing autographs in the concourse and
handing out Outback Steakhouse blooming onion coupons.
Saturday, September 1st Rowdie will be
joining John at the track and making a special appearance for an autograph
session scheduled at 1:30pm at the team Lombardo Race Trailer. "Drag Racing for NAPA, Lucas Oil and the
rest of our partners at the U.S. Nationals is a privilege and a pleasure. Sharing the NHRA excitement with fans at
Outback Steakhouse, cheering the Indianapolis Indians into the playoffs, three
days of qualifying then battling the best cars in the country on Monday makes
the "Big Go" just that. We'll
be ready!"
